Thanksgiving Family Service

For this service, the congregation is invited to bring offerings of fruit or non-perishable foods as a token of gratitude to the Lord for all He has given us (these offerings are distributed the needy after the service). After the opening of the Word, during the second hymn, the people come forward by way of the center aisle to present their fruit to the minister. They then return to their seats by way of the side aisles. One address is given, and this is adapted by the minister to suit all ages. There is no Sunday School and no one on duty in the nursery, although the nursery room is available if needed.

Christmas Tableaux Service

A series of nativity scenes are represented on the chancel by members of the congregation. While each scene is being shown, a minister reads the story it portrays from the Word. Christmas hymns and special music are included. Following this service, all are invited to join in a Christmas Sing and social time in the all-purpose room.

Christmas Eve Service

The minister presents one address for all ages at this candle-lit family service.

Christmas Day Service

This is a “regular” service, with a children’s talk and a sermon for adults. Please note that there is no Sunday School or nursery care offered on this day.

Palm Sunday Service

This is a “regular” service with a children’s talk and a sermon for adults. However, you may pick up a palm branch as you enter the church and carry it forward to lay it on the chancel during the first hymn.

Friday Evening (before Easter) Service

This is a service for adults, with extended lessons from the Easter story and an opportunity for all to partake of the Holy Supper (Communion) in memory of the Lord’s “Last Supper.”

Easter Service

This is another family service, with lessons and a talk for all ages together. The congregation is invited to bring floral offerings to celebrate the Lord’s resurrection. During the second hymn, the people may come forward by way of the center aisle to present their flowers to the minister. They then will return to their seats by way of the side aisles.

New Church Day Service (held on the Sunday nearest June 19th)

This is a “regular” service, with Sunday School and Nursery care for the children. Following the service, the Pastor presents special gifts from the Church to each of the children.
